Iran Avoids Response to Nukes Deal

Iran on Friday appeared to avoid giving a direct response to an international offer to supply fuel for a research reactor, leaving unclear whether it was prepared to accept a deal that would have reduced its stockpile of low-enriched uranium.

Iranian state-run television quoted an Iranian negotiator as saying that it was "interested in buying fuel for the Tehran research reactor within the framework of a clear proposal" and that "we are waiting for the other party's constructive and trust-building response." But there was no confirmation that Iran had delivered a formal response to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.
