The occupants of this space in the last two days have written much good sense. First, Fraser Nelson argued that the Prime Minister would continue to go to lengths to keep the Coalition together, and that the only way that certain Lib Dems might survive in politics would be as part of a merged party. Then, Mary Riddell yesterday pointed out that the implosion of Ed Miliband is not something to be taken for granted. It is with some regret that I fear I must agree with both of them.
