London Needs New York 'Supercop'

David Cameron’s decision to bring in US ’supercop’ Bill Bratton as an adviser on anti-gang policy is one of the smartest moves of his premiership so far. I hope that Cameron will now go the extra mile and appoint Bratton his new Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. As Janet Daley notes, the opposition to Bratton’s advisory role is hugely misguided. After all, this is a man with an extraordinary track record in tackling violent crime in three of America’s toughest cities, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, with stunning results.
