South Korea Harbors Unification Heresy

Enthusiasm for unification is withering in South Korea, even though neither the right nor the left is happy about it. Deeply ingrained ethnic nationalism in both competing ideologies make it grave political heresy to openly express doubts about the need for unification. As North Korea becomes increasingly irrelevant for a younger generation, a sea-change is in the offing.
