There is much talk of “sabre-rattling” in the Persian Gulf. Elsewhere in RightMinds, John R Bradley, respected commentator on Middle Eastern affairs, writes that “noisy sabre-rattling is no substitute for cool judgment and exhaustive diplomatic efforts for a resolution to this crisis.”
Hear, hear! But I don’t see that the naval task force (if task force it could be called) showing the flags of America, Britain and France in the Straits of Hormuz is doing any such thing.
