Today, Canada is popular for what we are. Canada is a pivotal exporter of energy and natural resources, and one that is willing to walk away from traditional buyers like the United States for new markets in Asia. Canada is a bastion of financial common sense, with good ideas on economic reform and a willingness to promote them. After decades of being described as “not a trading nation, but a trade dependent nation” we are moving out into the world, selling not just ore and oil, but yoga pants and smartphones.
