William Hague’s comeback within the Conservative party has been remarkable, but as he makes clear in his interview in this paper today, his ambitions are firmly fixed on his present job, as Foreign Secretary. And while he faces formidable challenges at present, most obviously in the Middle East, it is encouraging to see him focussing on Britain’s international role as a trading nation.
