U.S. Economy Could Cost Britain Dear

Britain, we are constantly told, is an open trading nation. True. But is this status all it is cracked up to be? Our big trading partner, the eurozone, is in trouble. On the eggs and basket principle, that ought not to matter, given one would expect the spirited, merchant-venturing nation of our self-image to have at least one other large trading partner. The good news is that we have, but the bad news is that said partner, the US, has serious problems, despite last week’s brighter growth figures.
