Did Navy SEAL Memoir Take Easy Way Out?

A new book about the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden, No Easy Day, officially released today, seems headed to the top of the bestseller lists.   The book was written by former SEAL Team Six member Matt Bissonnette.

 

Putting aside the minor controversy over how Bissonnette’s account of the Bin Laden raid differs from the Obama administration’s, a bigger controversy has emerged around the book being published without first being submitted to pre-publication review. The Pentagon has threatened, but not yet taken, legal action against Bissonnette.

 

Recent reports suggest Bissonnette may have written the book in a fit of pique after being encouraged to leave the Navy SEALS.  A competing storyline portrays Bissonnette’s book as simply intended to...
