What Is the Miliband Doctrine?

It’s hard to know what more Ed Miliband can do to be taken seriously as the likely victor of the next election. Labour has been comfortably ahead in the polls for 18 months and Miliband has been the bookmakers’ favourite for even longer. He routinely lands direct hits in Prime Minister’s Question Time and commands a higher approval rating than David Cameron. He is even finding ways of turning his weaknesses into strengths. “If spin doctors could design a politician,” he says, “they wouldn’t design me.” We might be just three years away from the Age of Ed.
