If policy inaction continues, today's stagflation will remain the order of the day. Parties in power, whether at the Centre or states, will be singed by the flames of public fury. Given that we're in the grip of an economic emergency, it's imperative that political parties put aside their mistrust and bickering - which has, for example, blocked Parliament from transacting much meaningful business in recent times - and forge enough of a consensus on what's needed to push forward the economy.
