It's too late to cancel the Sochi Olympics. But it isn’t too late to make sure Sochi is the last incredibly stupid choice of location for a major international sports event. I appreciate the notion that such events ought to float above the political messes of the regions where they happen to be held, that they bring us together as humans, nothing to kill or die for and no religion too, and so on.
