U.S. President Barack Obama might never approve the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline. Since the Canadian-based company first encountered some local opposition in Nebraska, and then attracted the attention of the wider environmental movement, and finally political opposition at the highest level in Washington D.C., the American president has entertained and sought every possible delay for a piece of pipe that already criss-crosses much of North America.
