Ending War's Worst Weapon

The global summit to end rape in war zones takes place in London on June 10-13, hosted by the Foreign Secretary, William Hague, and actress Angelina Jolie as Special Envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. They have worked together in the past to draw attention to the issue. This is an attempt to create a global consensus to deal with it — and the Declaration of Commitment to End Sexual Violence in Conflict which they launched at the UN has been signed by more than two-thirds of member states. This will consolidate the excellent intentions enshrined in the declaration and attempt to realise them.
