Latin American and Caribbean governments have endorsed the Venezuelan communist tyranny created by Hugo Chavez by choosing his appointed substitute, Nicolas Maduro, to represent them in a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for the period 2015-16. This could not come at a worse moment — when emerging and dangerous forces are threatening world peace and security. We badly need unity to face these threats.
