Working Towards Stability and Security in Asia

News that India will now provide naval vessels to Vietnam continues a trend of diversifying and evolving security relations in Asia. Earlier this year, Japan announced it was giving Vietnam six used patrol boats to help Hanoi protect its maritime claims in the South China Sea against continued pressure from China. Now, new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined in, noting that India also has an interest in the peaceful resolution of maritime disputes in the waterways of the Indo-Pacific.
