For reasons we have discussed, the administration presents a grossly distorted view of Israeli building so that it can appear “even-handed.” Israel sticks to a prior agreement with the United States not to expand the footprint of settlements, yet the administration bashes it no matter if the building is a new story of an apartment in a Jewish neighborhood of Jerusalem or in the outer reaches of the West Bank. Israel builds apartment buildings. Palestinians stab, shoot and drive over innocents, yet this administration continues to insist that the Palestinian Authority is a partner for peace.
