His father was a notorious dictator and his mother is best-known for her lavish shoe collection, but Ferdinand Marcos Jr does not believe his name is an impediment to seeking the highest office in the Philippines.
Mr Marcos, a senator in the national parliament, has dropped increasing hints that he plans to run for president in elections next year, saying this week that he was consulting with allies about his future.
