Elizabeth II, the Queen of Influence

This June 24, two women met in Berlin for tea and a tête-à-tête. The hostess, in black slacks and vivid coral jacket, was waiting at the door, as the woman from London, elegant in white dress, hat and gloves, alighted from a limousine as glossy black as her shoes and ever-present purse. This was their third get-together over the years. They shook hands. The woman in slacks and jacket did not bow. This was not a slight, merely a mutual acknowledgment by two extraordinary women that power was shaking the gloved hand of influence.
