Jeremy Corbyn, Labour’s accidental leader, has lived all his life in a hall of mirrors. He has never talked to people with different views. Even within his own party, he hasn’t mixed with anyone outside the far left. He had never met the fellow Labour MP he appointed as shadow education secretary. In his leadership campaign, he addressed rallies full of like-minded supporters. And his acceptance speech was aimed at them, not the country.
