The Socialist Party will not play second fiddle to the right, because this would be the end of its center-left narrative. It is taking a step that PSOE is now willing to take in Spain, and PASOK never had the option of taking in Greece. It is embracing the anti-systemic left. It is thus willing to regenerate its left narrative, revitalize the credibility of its revolutionary past, but also tame the discourse.
