Legislation is to allow the Mayor, Boris Johnson, to realise his dream of very fast cars being driven around London streets. His bid to make the capital a venue for Formula One racing may totally screw up London’s traffic but for a publicity-hungry politician that is nothing compared with helping Lewis Hamilton with his champagne abuse and getting an invite onto Bernie Ecclestone’s yacht.
