What is apparent from Goldberg’s article is that Obama is one of the truly unique foreign policy thinkers to ever sit in the Oval Office. He can take credit for righting the ship of state following eight years of his predecessor’s disastrous foreign policy. But that his views are still considered so radical, and that goals like reducing the U.S. presence in the Middle East and pivoting toward Asia remain unmet, is also evidence that he’s failed to ensure that he has a clear foreign policy legacy.
