I genuinely resent even having to discuss or refer to Hitler during any political discussion. He isn’t even a figure of controversy any more – that description is reserved for historical figures whose motivations and “achievements” are still, to a degree, in dispute. Yet today, in the space of a few seconds, Ken Livingstone has thrown a grenade into our historical perspective: “Hitler? A Zionist? I didn’t know that? How, exactly...?”
