Six years ago, a woman booked an appointment with her local MP, Stephen Timms, and stabbed him twice in the stomach. She had intended to kill him, and had drawn up a list of several MPs who had voted for the Iraq war. She wasn't part of a terrorist cell, but still her attack was seen – at the time – as part of the jihadist threat facing Britain.
