Erdogan's governing philosophy is on its way to becoming Turkey's new “official ideology,” as Kemalism was for almost a century. Some Turkey observers call this ideology “Islamism,” but that's not the whole story. It rather seems to be — just like its predecessor, Kemalism — an ideology centered around a cult of personality: Erdoganism.
