Very soon after Donald Trump was elected, a consensus formed about likely winners and losers abroad. According to this, the big winner would be Russia, given that one of Trump's few consistencies through the campaign was his desire to mend fences with Vladimir Putin. And the biggest loser, it was thought -- for similar reasons -- would be Ukraine.
