A chastened Renzi now has a second shot at addressing Italy's myriad problems. He should, finally, have a more united party at his back. He needs to avoid compromises with the smaller parties, articulate a strong reform agenda, propose a winner-takes-most election system, make it clear that he is prepared to lead from the front, and assert his determination to defend Italy's interests in Europe. In short, take risks.
