Baby Rescued from China Landslide
Rainstorms believed to be the worst in five decades have triggered massive flooding and landslides in and around the Sichuan province region of China in recent days, killing dozens and displacing millions. Buried under all of this tragedy emerged an inspiring story of the rescue of a 15-month old baby girl from the mucky ruins left behind in the carnage. This story has a bittersweet twist, however. In order to save her young granddaughter, grandmother Pan Guofen lost her own life shielding the young child from a concrete slab.
