Magnitude-7.1 Quake Shakes Southern Chile

Chilean officials and the U.S. Geological Survey say a magnitude-7.1 quake has shaken southern Chile, sending hundreds fleeing for higher ground for fear that it would generate a tsunami. (Jan. 3)
