Melinda Gates On Importance Of Federal Funding To International Aid

In an interview with CBS News at the CARE Women's Conference, Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, stressed the importance of U.S. foreign aid, even during the ensuing budget battle. Gates announced a partnership with USAID and others Wednesday to fund research for prevention and treatment for pregnant women and newborns in low resource areas.
