French Police Battle Communists, Anarchists At May Day Demonstrations

May Day protests turned violent in Paris on Monday, with several police officers being engulfed by flames after being hit with Molotov cocktails. According to The Guardian, six riot police were injured, one with third degree burns.

This year's May Day comes less than a week ahead of the final round of France's presidential election where voters must choose between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron.
