In his landmark speech in Prague three months ago, Barack Obama spoke of his vision of a world without nuclear weapons. He has already begun significant work on this disarmament effort by reaching a framework for a new nuclear-arms limitation treaty with Russia that will further reduce the arsenals of the two former Cold War adversaries.
Other previously stalled nonproliferation work, such as the effort to adopt a treaty banning the production of additional fissile material — the fuel for nuclear bombs — is also underway.
