EU Is Britain's Only Hope for Influence

Not long ago, I bumped into Tony Blair at a conference in New York. Sun-tanned and debonair, he was about to deliver an address on climate change, a subject on which he almost certainly knew less (and possibly also cared less) than all his fellow-speakers. It did not show. Mr Blair spoke with such panache that every other panellist echoed his appeal for a global consensus and parroted his soundbite of the day: "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."
