A Year Later, Harper Still in Charge

Last November, Barack Obama swept to power in one of the greatest victories in recent Democratic Party history. And in the two months between Election Day and Inauguration Day, his personal approval rating rose to near-historic levels.

Also last November, Prime Minister Stephen Harper nearly lost his government. And when the dust settled a couple of months later, he was written off as politically dead by many observers.
