If Ma really knows what went wrong with his presidency and strives to improve in the right direction, he probably will not disappoint his well-wishers. But, the question is: Does he?
Having carefully read the brief message Ma wrote for 2010 one will detect an undertone of grievance that he and his team were not given due credit for their achievements. He also promised that he “will make all-out efforts” to carry out reforms. Here, Ma demonstrated two fallacies. First, he must realize that he has been faulted not so much for his lack of intention and efforts made to be a good president as for his lack of ability to be one. Secondly, in the perception of the overwhelming majority of the people, his administration has accomplished little to date.
