BEIJING -- The visit of top Myanmar leader Than Shwe to China this week comes at a time when the reclusive Southeast Asian nation is increasingly important to its northern neighbor, analysts said. China needs Myanmar to meet its growing energy needs, and amid renewed presence of the United States in the region, said the analysts.
