It is a simple matter of logic. For something to be dead, it has to have first been alive. The backlash against multiculturalism is all the rage in Europe. Last week German Chancellor Angela Merkel joined the chorus of multiculturalism bashers. One can understand such a backlash if it was happening in the United States or Canada. But did I miss something in Europe's recent history? Was Europe ever multicultural?
