First came the "incidents", then the recriminations and threats, the claims, counter-claims, the boasts, military exercises, then what?
Now North Korea is talking about "defusing tensions" on the Korean Peninsula. North Korea's major media outlet, in a New Year's editorial, said "confrontation must end" and warned what might otherwise happen - "a nuclear holocaust".
