Pakistan and the United States have reason to be pleased with their deal to end a serious diplomatic crisis. American contractor Raymond Davis walks free after the families of the two men he was accused of murdering are paid blood money. Islamabad gets pre-eminence for its spies and a more influential role in the region. The bill, though, is still to come, and it could be steep for both sides.
