Perhaps I’ve been spending too much time reading my daughter’s Mother Goose, but after the NDP rally in Gilles Duceppe’s riding over the Easter weekend, I just couldn’t help myself. Jack Layton wasn’t the only one smiling; federalists from all political stripes grinned from ear to ear. It would be better if conservatives, not socialists, triggered the Bloc Quebecois’ demise, but it’s still nicer to live in a world where politics operates on a left-right axis instead of a separatist-federalist one.
