Europe would be wrong to rush things. It should not hand over more influence in the IMF than it absolutely must to candidates sponsored by ruthless dictatorships such as China or Kazakhstan (a Russian proxy), questionable regimes such as South Africa's, quasi-democratic states such as Singapore, or problematic allies such as Israel.
