A missile fired from an unmanned flying vehicle last Friday killed several al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen, including Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born jihadist. He seems to have been targeted for assassination. Some commentators described the New Mexico native’s death as a turning point in the war against terror.
