To say that I wouldn’t enjoy living in a military dictatorship is an understatement. But then, I live in a Western-style liberal democracy, and a fully functional and prosperous one at that. I might not reject a military dictatorship so quickly if I lived in a dysfunctional, corrupt, impoverished, disillusioned part of the world. I might actually prefer some warlord’s rule to famine, chaos, not to mention a totalitarian tyranny.
