Building nuclear weapons is a challenge, but it’s child’s play compared to the challenge of eliminating them. Making the Bomb is merely difficult; unmaking it is probably impossible. We’ve been trying ever since we dropped the first bomb on Hiroshima 67 years ago. Mankind scared itself by its own bang on August 6, 1945. As a result, an increasing number of nations started equipping themselves with more and more destructive versions of a weapon they had less and less intention of using and clamored louder and louder to eliminate.
