Even in normal times it would be remarkable for Harper to win a fourth consecutive election. But if Harper has any chance of holding the reigns of power, he needs to maintain Canada’s superior economic performance. We should be glad it’s do or die for the Harper government if he sees his political future and our economic prosperity inextricably linked.
