In the wake of the terrible loss of life caused by the train derailment and explosion in Lac-Megantic, the first priorities are to help the town recover and find out what happened in order to prevent similar tragedies in future. But there is one thing we already know — pipelines like the proposed Canada-U.S. Keystone XL are a much safer method for transporting crude oil.
