Like Ed Miliband, Cameron uses Twitter to make the most obvious and awkward statements about cultural and sporting events. It’s there that we learn that he thought Andy Murray’s Wimbledon win was frightfully good and that the England Cricket Team are a bunch of bloody good chaps. The restrictions of 140-characters become even more obvious when the account sends out messages on grave topics such as the funeral of Fusilier Lee Rigby. There’s no dignity in the Prime Minister boiling these issues down into retweetable soundbites.
