U.S. Finally Learning from the Rest of the World

These days, in debates about everything from gun control to gay marriage, international comparisons may not be defining, but they do seem more relevant. At the very least, fewer people expound quite as confidently about America’s being the greatest country on earth, or insist it should be a model for others. Somewhere along the way, it got harder to claim that we’re so different from other people.
