It is undeniable that we are seeing a tendency in technological development towards ever-increasing automatization. This trend goes hand-in-hand with an exponential growth in computing power while processing units are becoming smaller and less expensive. It is therefore necessary to clearly draw a line between armed and unarmed UAS with human control, and fully autonomous systems that are guided by algorithms without any human interference.
